Joanne is a writer, poet, lyricist, graphic artist, and channeler of the energy personality essence, Rose.

After experiencing many years as a sensitive individual with special, unrecognized abilities, she discovered her way of spirit, a deep recognition of her divine gifts and the means to joyfully help others recognize and express theirs.

After years of being a gypsy, casting about for her life path, Jo graduated magna cum laude from Temple University with a degree in communications, and began her vocation as a writer soon afterwards.

She is author of New Age spoof The Cellophane Prophecy, many articles including Emerging New World Ethics and Romance and Remembrance, stage plays, musical comedies, and over a hundred haikus.

Jo and her husband, Paul Helfrich, have worked for many years to support and promote Seth, Elias, Kris, and other channeled sources through their websites NewWorldView and Elias Forum. Their work is also influenced by Ken Wilber (Integral Institute), Don Beck (Spiral Dynamics Integral), and John Klimo (whose work has been pivotal in legitimizing the channeling phenomenon). This forms the basis of what they call Integral Conscious Creation (see What is Integral Conscious Creation? PDF).

In April 2007, Jo began performing an energy exchange with energy personality essence, Rose. They have published over 1,000 pages of teachings on this web site, Essence of Rose. In addition to teaching, Jo writes about her multidimensional explorations, the nature of the Divine Feminine, and many other topics both cosmic and comic.

Joanne and Rose — who for practical purposes we refer to as JoRose — have written their first book, The Way of Spirit. Other works are in process.

Jo is also a communications professional with over thirty years experience in the hotel, entertainment, and information technology industries. She currently works in IT planning and outreach in support of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) located in Pasadena, home of the Rose Bowl.

Jo is happy to have found herself in the unique role of “bringing Roses,” which she couldn’t have guessed all those years ago, casting about. She looks forward to the opportunity to help others surprise and delight themselves with their own special superpowers.
